Used Oil Fuel – Quality & Specifications

RDO Environmental Services (RDO) operates a petroleum recycling facility. RDO produces a high quality Fuel Oil #2 for use by industry and each load of fuel we deliver is accompanied by a laboratory analysis documenting compliance with 40 CFR part 266. After review of the last ten fuel oil laboratory reports, the following averages were obtained.

Note: A British Thermal Unit (BTU) is a measure of potential energy in the fuel. Diesel fuel has an average of 136,600 BTU’s per gallon and RDO’s fuel has a slightly higher BTU value. Flashpoint is the temperature at which the liquid will give off sufficient vapors to form an ignitable mixture with air. For reference, diesel fuel has a flashpoint of about 140 deg. F. Traditionally a boiler must be reset to burn hotter at startup to accommodate the slightly higher flashpoint of our fuel oil. Pour Point and Viscosity represent the level of resistance of the liquid to flow and show that our fuel will flow very well at your lowest regional temperatures.

RDO maintains strict product control standards and has produced a consistently high quality fuel for many years. We believe that our fuel is well suited to your needs and could represent a significant fuel cost savings.

We thank you for considering RDO for your alternative fuel needs and look forward to working with you.
